Verify a National Student Identifier

Confirm that an NSI is genuine and what school the bearer is currently enrolled at. Used by employers, scholarship boards, banks, and parents.

Look up an NSI

Enter the NSI exactly as printed on the student's ID card. The space between the letter and digits is optional — A 123456 and A123456 both work.

Pick the letter from the ID card, then the 6-digit number.

About the NSI

The National Student Identifier is a permanent, lifetime ID issued to every student admitted into a Sierra Leone school. It travels with the learner from nursery through university.

The format is A123456 — one uppercase letter followed by six digits.

Identifiers issued before May 2026 used a longer legacy format and are no longer accepted on this public portal. Schools and integrators still recognise them internally.

Privacy

To protect students, this lookup never reveals full names, dates of birth, photos, parent details, or contact information. You will only see the student's initials, school, class, and current enrolment status.
